Please do not remove it while spraying.

Before each use, lightly push the check valve by a bamboo skewer or slender object to check if air can pass through. (Figure A)Check valve must be clean thoroughly after use. (Figure B)

Can this paint sprayer work without the check valve?

Yes, it can.

However, to prevent paint from flowing into the motor, please note that, DO NOT place the sprayer upside down or tilt the sprayer too much while spraying.
