The WiseBond Ol’ No. 9 Wood Wax is a penetrating hardwood finish and polish wax – that liquefies into an oil during application – designed to add water protection. It soaks deep into the wood accentuating the natural wood color and grain, locking them in.
Simply apply it to any raw wood surface and even over epoxy such as an epoxy river table. Wipe off the excess and buff to a shine!
It produces a semi-transparent, color rich wood finish to any woodworking project. This wax/oil is easy to use as a 1-coat application wood finish that waterproofs most species of wood, exotic and domestic. Whether you have a wood and epoxy river table, bar top or countertop, furniture or any wood project where water protection is needed, it will not cover up the natural beauty of the wood.
Apply to hardwoods that have been sanded between 220 – 400 grit. Keep in mind, the lower the sandpaper grit, the deeper the oil will penetrate. The higher the sandpaper grit, the smoother your wood surface will feel. For best results, apply a thin to medium layer of wax/oil to the entire wood surface with either a rag, melamine foam sponge, or an electric buffer in a circular motion. Always move in the direction of the wood grain.
Let the wax/oil set for at least 1 hour before buffing off excess residue. Optionally, you can repeat the application until your desired number of coats and look is achieved. After your final coat, 24 to 48 hours should pass for the surface of the wood to become dry to the touch.
