For best results, work thoroughly into the surface and allow absorption for 8-24 hours. For very old or dry wood, apply smaller amounts gradually over several days to prevent rapid expansion of wood.

First, clean the surface using a vinegar solution (try MaxTite Concentrated Vinegars!), then modestly wet a cloth with mineral oil and apply a thin layer to the stainless steel, gently wiping with the grain to polish.
